Mornings with Mocha...and Santa Lejeune

Mocha and I enjoy watching the sun rise on our morning walks...except when she goes crazy pulling on the leash whenever she sees a squirrel or another dog, plus yesterday I slipped on an icy patch and messed up my knee again...Mocha learned how to open the porch doors to go in and out, now we just need to teach her how to close the door...

Book Club Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane

Enjoyed NASCC (spouse club) book club last night. We discussed Lisa See’s The Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane while sampling authentic pu-erh tea from the exact remote region of China where the book is set (thanks to Bana Tea’s book club tasting guide). It’s interesting, the author’s friend owns the Bana tea company and it is located on Colima Rd, just down the hill from my sister’s family and near Ben’s aunt and uncle in Hacienda Heights, CA. I’ll have to check it out the next time I’m there...I attempted to make sticky rice in the rice cooker (and turn them into rice balls to make it finger food) and also a marinated olive and cheese plate.
