What They're Watching...

I decided to try meshing parts of two ideas, a journal prompt from Money Saving Mom's  "A Peak into My Life This Week: What I'm Celebrating/Watching/Listening to/Reading/Thinking About" with some of Rachel Macy Stafford's Hands Free ideas.  Rachel advocates taking some time to let go of your digital, to-do list, etc. distractions and be fully present with your kids, to really notice what they are doing.  So over the weekend during some down time, this is what I noticed:

Book Club Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane

Enjoyed NASCC (spouse club) book club last night. We discussed Lisa See’s The Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane while sampling authentic pu-erh tea from the exact remote region of China where the book is set (thanks to Bana Tea’s book club tasting guide). It’s interesting, the author’s friend owns the Bana tea company and it is located on Colima Rd, just down the hill from my sister’s family and near Ben’s aunt and uncle in Hacienda Heights, CA. I’ll have to check it out the next time I’m there...I attempted to make sticky rice in the rice cooker (and turn them into rice balls to make it finger food) and also a marinated olive and cheese plate.
