Spouse Club Tour of King Hall

My son and his friend tagged along for a field trip when my spouse club toured King Hall, the dining facility for the Brigade of Midshipmen. It's impressive, they can serve 4,400 people within 5 minutes and plan, prepare and serve more than 13,500 meals per day.  Also, see this You Tube video from the Better Buildings Challenge.




It felt like I was shopping in Costco.

Book Club Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane

Enjoyed NASCC (spouse club) book club last night. We discussed Lisa See’s The Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane while sampling authentic pu-erh tea from the exact remote region of China where the book is set (thanks to Bana Tea’s book club tasting guide). It’s interesting, the author’s friend owns the Bana tea company and it is located on Colima Rd, just down the hill from my sister’s family and near Ben’s aunt and uncle in Hacienda Heights, CA. I’ll have to check it out the next time I’m there...I attempted to make sticky rice in the rice cooker (and turn them into rice balls to make it finger food) and also a marinated olive and cheese plate.
