Storing Kimchi During a Swim Meet

I was going through some random photos on my phone...These were from last month, mid-December 2017 when my youngest son and I were at the UMBC swim meet. We went to the Korean market (Hmart) in between sessions, I had forgotten my ice chest but needed to store kimchi for a few hours. So I parked at the far end of the lot, left it on the car and hoped no one would mess with it, take it or worry that I forgot it was there. I ended up putting it in a bag and tying it down with a bungee cord I found in the trunk. It was fine!

Book Club Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane

Enjoyed NASCC (spouse club) book club last night. We discussed Lisa See’s The Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane while sampling authentic pu-erh tea from the exact remote region of China where the book is set (thanks to Bana Tea’s book club tasting guide). It’s interesting, the author’s friend owns the Bana tea company and it is located on Colima Rd, just down the hill from my sister’s family and near Ben’s aunt and uncle in Hacienda Heights, CA. I’ll have to check it out the next time I’m there...I attempted to make sticky rice in the rice cooker (and turn them into rice balls to make it finger food) and also a marinated olive and cheese plate.
