Catching an NFL football


This son was volunteering for a school JROTC fundraiser by working in concessions at today's Vikings vs. Redskins NFL game.The Vikings runningback #17 made a touchdown and afterwards spiked the ball and Josh caught it!  Unfortunately he wasn't allowed to keep it.  (You can see #17 spike the ball on this video at the 5:38 mark at this link).

Book Club Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane

Enjoyed NASCC (spouse club) book club last night. We discussed Lisa See’s The Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane while sampling authentic pu-erh tea from the exact remote region of China where the book is set (thanks to Bana Tea’s book club tasting guide). It’s interesting, the author’s friend owns the Bana tea company and it is located on Colima Rd, just down the hill from my sister’s family and near Ben’s aunt and uncle in Hacienda Heights, CA. I’ll have to check it out the next time I’m there...I attempted to make sticky rice in the rice cooker (and turn them into rice balls to make it finger food) and also a marinated olive and cheese plate.
