Boy Scout Summer Camp and a City Council Meeting


 I was just going through some pics on my phone...Youngest son went to Boy Scout camp a couple of weeks ago.



And he (we) attended a City Council meeting as one of the Communications merit badge requirements.  It made me realize that we, the public, ought to make it a habit to keep abreast of the issues and attend and speak out at such forums.

Book Club Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane

Enjoyed NASCC (spouse club) book club last night. We discussed Lisa See’s The Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane while sampling authentic pu-erh tea from the exact remote region of China where the book is set (thanks to Bana Tea’s book club tasting guide). It’s interesting, the author’s friend owns the Bana tea company and it is located on Colima Rd, just down the hill from my sister’s family and near Ben’s aunt and uncle in Hacienda Heights, CA. I’ll have to check it out the next time I’m there...I attempted to make sticky rice in the rice cooker (and turn them into rice balls to make it finger food) and also a marinated olive and cheese plate.
